We did traffic generation and website optimization full-time for CareerBuilder.com from 2003 until 2005, beginning with search engine optimization work alongside iProspect in the spring of 2003 using the same principles I had used on the Sybertec eStore three years earlier. In late August of that year, we found several hurdles preventing search engines from indexing the site. After fixing each of those, traffic from search engines doubled by October.

We then took over management of their very large Google AdWords campaign in January of 2004. Within two months, conversions were up 80% and cost-per-conversion declined 43%. By September, cost-per-conversion was down a total of 60%.
