Google Making It Easy to Advertise in Print

From Google’s Inside AdWords blog yesterday:

Last week, we told you about a special test we were running to place ads from our AdWords advertisers in select print publications. The auction allows you to bid for ad space in well-known magazines. Since the auction is a new process for many, we are providing some extra time for you to get your bids in; the auction will now close on February 24th. So for those of you who are reading about this for the first time, and for those who are interested but have been procrastinating, be sure to visit http://www.google.com/printadsauction and name your price.

Really interesting concept. If you’ve ever wanted to get into print, this could be your chance. Check out the list of magazines:

Wedding Information Site for Sale

Wedding Guide, a great-looking wedding information site, is up for sale over on Search Engine Forums. The asking price is $10,000, which seems a bit high based solely on revenue, but there appears to be some good content and the design is a really good one.

Might make a good business for you if you have an interest in the wedding niche.

Blogs to Riches

There’s a really good article in the latest New York magazine about “the emerging hierarchy of the New New Media.” Really interesting and definitely worth reading if you have any interest at all in blogging.

Three:Twenty Interactive, The Blog

Today marks the launch of Three:Twenty Interactive as a blog. It’s not a blog in the typical sense, but using WordPress gives me an easy way to get some features that I really wanted to have for the site. Namely…

Interactivity
Now that everyone has the ability to comment on each entry and each advice article, we can get some interactivity going. I’m anxious to hear about your specific experiences with the stuff I write about since how you apply it varies from industry to industry.

Better Content Management
WordPress makes managing all this content so much easier. This is the first true content site I’ve worked on (the others have all been sites where users were actually doing something, not just reading), so I needed some way to keep all this content organized and structured.

I’ve also added more content during the time I’ve been setting things up and, hopefully, will make that more of a regular occurrence now that I have an easy way to do it.

Three:Twenty Interactive on ProBlogger

I modified the Double Your Website’s Revenue in 30 Minutes article for use as a guest post over on Darren Rowse’s ProBlogger blog while he’s away on vacation (”on holiday” for all you non-U.S. readers). It should be running on January 8. If you’re not familiar with Darren’s site, it’s a great resource for learning more about turning your hobby into something that actually pays the bills.
